Halloween Party (backdated like a mofo)

The theme for this year's annual Halloween Bash is Heroes and Villains. The club has been redecorated for the evening, and it seems as though each corner has a different theme. And we're not talking the campy sixties type stuff, but the more recent movies from both Marvel and DC.

One half of the room is DC, complete with areas that look like the Batcave, the Fortress of Solitude, Arkham Asylum, and the Legion of Doom's lair, which has dartboards that have various heroes faces on them.

The other half of the room has the Avenger's Tower, The ship from Guardian's of the Galaxy, a throne in space with Thanos, and Hydra's lair.

They all meet in the middle at the dance floor, which gives off a kind of supernatural glow that seems to throb along with the music.

All the employees are dressed for the theme, as various heroes and villian's sidekicks and henchment.

Wes comes as Blackheart, from Ghost Rider.

"Well, well, well, aren't we looking dapper tonight?" Will says as he sidles up next to Wes. "And by dapper, I mean really sexy."

Wes chuckles softly. "If a bit pale," he says with a waggle of his eyebrows.

"Yet somehow you make it work," Will says, grinning at him before giving him a kiss hello. "Please forgive my ignorance, though, since Evan and Jason are the nerds. But...who are you?"

Wes gives him a bit of a sarcastic smile. "The name is Blackheart, and I'm a real asshole, a demon, and in the Marvel worlds, the son of the devil."

Will raises an eyebrow. "I'm gonna have to ask them if they have any comics I can read about him because..." He grins. "I'm trying really hard not to find that sexy, but you're just standing there being all...sexy and wicked."

"Well, he looks a bit...different in the comics than he did in the Ghost Rider movie a few years back."

Wes is one of the few reasons Mia will leave the bar. When she finally spots him in the crowd, she smiles and starts to greet him until she really sees his costume. Especially the makeup. That's when her smile falls and she looks rather dismayed.

Wes notices her, making his way over and giving her a faint smile. "Don't worry. Still among the living. Just the costume thing."

She responds by hugging him tightly around the neck. "I don't like seeing you like that."

Brings back bad memories.

"Sorry. Didn't really think about it when I picked out my costume."

At least, not consciously.

She thought she was over it, but apparently not. Bad times have a way of doing that.

Mia pulls back and offers a half-smile. "How was Hawaii?"

"Warm, though I guess it wasn't really all that cold here for this time of year."

Jason knows exactly who Wes is dressed as, and he gives him a huge hug from behind.

"Blackheart for the win," he giggles, the thought that he shouldn't sneak up on Wes never even occurring to him.

Wes stiffens at first, his hand moving to his side. However, if there's one thing that Jason has, it's a very distinct giggle, and as soon as he hears it, Wes relaxes and lets his hand drop.

"Someone who actually knows who I am. I'm impressed."

Jason moves to stand in front of Wes and removes his Flash mask. "Geek," he says, pointing at himself. "I really liked the movie and this is so much hotter than if you portrayed his real form from the comics. Plus, evil badasses are kind of awesome."

"I'm really not sure I could pull off the comic version, even if I had a damn good makeup artist to help me out. Besides, I figured we'd have an abundance of heroes, and someone needs to be the villain."

"I thought that, too," Jason agrees. "That's why I insisted half of us be villains. We've got Catwoman, the Winter Soldier, and Reverse Flash. I think it worked out pretty well."

"Although Catwoman and Winter Soldier are kind of reformed in at least some aspects."
