Halloween Party (backdated like a mofo)

The theme for this year's annual Halloween Bash is Heroes and Villains. The club has been redecorated for the evening, and it seems as though each corner has a different theme. And we're not talking the campy sixties type stuff, but the more recent movies from both Marvel and DC.

One half of the room is DC, complete with areas that look like the Batcave, the Fortress of Solitude, Arkham Asylum, and the Legion of Doom's lair, which has dartboards that have various heroes faces on them.

The other half of the room has the Avenger's Tower, The ship from Guardian's of the Galaxy, a throne in space with Thanos, and Hydra's lair.

They all meet in the middle at the dance floor, which gives off a kind of supernatural glow that seems to throb along with the music.

All the employees are dressed for the theme, as various heroes and villian's sidekicks and henchment.

Jason knows exactly who Wes is dressed as, and he gives him a huge hug from behind.

"Blackheart for the win," he giggles, the thought that he shouldn't sneak up on Wes never even occurring to him.

Wes stiffens at first, his hand moving to his side. However, if there's one thing that Jason has, it's a very distinct giggle, and as soon as he hears it, Wes relaxes and lets his hand drop.

"Someone who actually knows who I am. I'm impressed."

Jason moves to stand in front of Wes and removes his Flash mask. "Geek," he says, pointing at himself. "I really liked the movie and this is so much hotter than if you portrayed his real form from the comics. Plus, evil badasses are kind of awesome."

"I'm really not sure I could pull off the comic version, even if I had a damn good makeup artist to help me out. Besides, I figured we'd have an abundance of heroes, and someone needs to be the villain."

"I thought that, too," Jason agrees. "That's why I insisted half of us be villains. We've got Catwoman, the Winter Soldier, and Reverse Flash. I think it worked out pretty well."

"Although Catwoman and Winter Soldier are kind of reformed in at least some aspects."

Jason thinks about that for a moment. "Dang, you're right. There's the slight danger they could go rogue, but...yeah." He looks at Wes. "In that case, you are an excellent villain."

"I thought so, although there's entirely too many layers to this costume."

"You should take some off."

"Oh I'm sure I will at some point or another."

Jason laughs. "Yeah, with all the boyfriends and husbands you have here tonight, the odds are you'll have your clothes off way more than on. It's fantastic, right?"

"Can't say I'll be complaining," he says with a smile, though there's something behind it in his eyes that's unusual.

Jason returns the smile, then tilts his head slightly. Actors are students of human behavior, and he may just be imagining that something behind the smile, but he'll never shy away from being nosy.

"You good, though? Besides having too many clothes on?"

"Not really, no. To quote that movie about my universe, I have a bad feeling about this."

"Oh...yeah." Jason lowers his eyes. He knows they had broached the subject back in Hawaii, and he feels bad that he hasn't let himself think too much about what might be happening. "You and Evan won't let anything happen to us, right?"

"We'll do our best," he says, making no promises because they aren't exactly dealing with an average threat.

Jason nods. "No matter what happens, I'm glad that you and I got to be friends."

Wes smiles at him. "Me too, Jason. And if I can, I'll do everything in my power to protect you."

Jason nods, then just looks at him and hugs him tightly.

Wes smiles softly and returns his hug.

Jason is still holding onto him when he says, "I suppose I should let go of you at some point, huh? You've got husbands and boyfriends to enjoy before...you know."

Wes chuckles softly. "Pretty sure I could say the same about you."

That makes Jason smile. "We're lucky sons of bitches, man."

"We are indeed."

Jason gives him one more hug, then lets him go. "Okay, Blackheart, go tap some ass," he says, attempting to give his backside a swat before he walks away, though he most likely just got his coat.
