Halloween Party (backdated like a mofo)

The theme for this year's annual Halloween Bash is Heroes and Villains. The club has been redecorated for the evening, and it seems as though each corner has a different theme. And we're not talking the campy sixties type stuff, but the more recent movies from both Marvel and DC.

One half of the room is DC, complete with areas that look like the Batcave, the Fortress of Solitude, Arkham Asylum, and the Legion of Doom's lair, which has dartboards that have various heroes faces on them.

The other half of the room has the Avenger's Tower, The ship from Guardian's of the Galaxy, a throne in space with Thanos, and Hydra's lair.

They all meet in the middle at the dance floor, which gives off a kind of supernatural glow that seems to throb along with the music.

All the employees are dressed for the theme, as various heroes and villian's sidekicks and henchment.

Let the fun begin!

"I don't know. We left separately. She hasn't seen me like this either." he admits.

Mia's eyebrow raises. "Really? She hasn't seen you without your beard?"

"So I have to guess what she dressed as? Or I can cheat and text her."

"She hasn't. Ever." He says with a grin before he nods, "Yes, I'm sure you could. Don't tell me who she is, though. I want to be just as surprised."

"I wish I could see her face when she sees yours," Mia grins. "And I won't tell you who she is. Promise."

"Thank you, Mia. I appreciate that." He says, "So, tell me. How are you? That is if you want to confess to a humble priest. Or, just to an Irish bartender."

Her smile is a bit crooked and sad. "I've been better. But I've also been worse." She takes a long drink from her glass.

"It sounds like you need another drink." He says as he brings her a full glass. "Jamie doesn't tell me anything about your friendship with her. I don't know any of your conversations. I don't really know but you are a friend and if you need any of us to kill someone for you or help you in any way, I'm sure that you can come to us for assistance."

There's a faint smile on her face as she says this, and a slightly dangerous glint in her eyes that disappears quickly. "I don't need anyone to kill for me, but I appreciate you saying that. I'm always here if you guys need anything at all."

She sighs and thanks him for the second drink. "I found out my ex didn't ever cheat on me. We aren't getting back together. But I still care about him. Basically the whole thing sucks."

"He didn't cheat on you? How did you find that out?"

Mia's brow furrows as she thinks back, but the alcohol is taking effect, blurring her thoughts. Just as she wanted. "Right now I can't even remember."

"I don't know what to say about that except if that you aren't getting together with him after finding out this news, are you happily with someone else?"

"Friends with benefits," she smiles.

Her smile turns into more of a grin. "Very good news. Lots of friends. Lots of benefits."

He smiles, "Well, that sounds like you're becoming like the rest of us."

She shrugs one shoulder, only admitting half of that is true. "Not quite like you guys. I'm not in a relationship with anybody and there's not one big group. And no group sex."

"Safer?" He says as he also arches his eyebrow. "Is that because it is fun without any of the attachment?"

"Pretty much." Mia's tempted to down the rest of her drink in one go but forces herself to take it slow.

"Enough about that though," she smiles. "How are you doing with being a dad?"

"Fantastic." He says with a grin as he pulls out his cell from his back pocket and opens up the pictures, "I swore I wouldn't be the kind of father that would show pictures, but I can't help it." he says as he does become one of those fathers that shows pictures of his kid.

Mia leans forward to look at all the pictures. "I'm not a baby person, but even I have to admit, your baby's cute."

"So, does that mean that you aren't going to babysit when we need you?"

Mia just laughs. "I'm the last person you want babysitting."
